In the 94th minute, unbridled joy broke out for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández stabbed home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and handed the temporary Chelsea manager a career-defining moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old throughout his career.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the home bench stood the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with an unparalleled CV for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, stood a one-time trainer at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and arrived to make his senior managerial bow after being temporarily promoted from his regular role guiding Chelsea's youth teams.
